The Thatch was situated at the base of Trusklieve Mountain in the Town-Land of Lettermacaward, County Donegal with the Gweebarra and Trawena Bay inlets surrounding most of the land. The cottage was built around 1890 and was at first only one room. The second room was added in the late 1930’s. The view is South-Eastward with the dense evergreen trees on the far side of the Gweebarra River and the Derkbeg Hill sweeping high to the right in the distance.
